I heard that the Louvre with 35,000 displayed pieces isn't.

The world's largest art gallery is the Winter Palace and Hermitage in St. Petersburg, Russia. Visitors would have to walk 15 miles to see the 322 galleries which house nearly 3 million works of art.

the worlds largest art collection is a mixture of shrubs and plants which they consider art beacuse of the way they carve and shape them............the worlds second is another mixture of sculptures and statues

Certainly The Vatican if NOT the the largest, is in the top 2. I suspect they are likely #1, given the time spent in archiving. Beyond that, the inclusion of every piece of art, collected, and displayed by the faith, in so many shrines and churches,around the globe,  likely makes that faith, the largest HOLDER of art on the planet.
