  1. A rat. At 10 feet with a BB. With an air-gun that by all rights shouldn't have killed it. I'm firmly convinced the only reason it went down was because I literally hit it right next to the eye at such a ridiculously short range. Even then it was still twitching till I hit it with a shovel. (What I had to toss it into the creek with something, and I needed to make sure it was dead...)

Frankly I'd have been much better of shooting that rat with a .177 caliber 10-pump pneumatic like the Crosman 660 or 760 using pointed or domed lead pellets. However all I had on hand was a Daisy Grizzly, and the bugger would have been under the house before I could get and pump up something powerful enough.

  2. I spent lots of time shooting bull frogs as a kid with an old Crossman pump up pellet gun, don't remember what model number, I do remember always using the pointed pellets though.  Also shot a rabbit once, but for anything other than frogs, rats, snakes, etc. you need to use at least a .22 lr, to ethically and humanely kill what your'e shooting.  But I did learn a lot about shooting starting off with that old pellet gun though, wish I still had it.

  3. you don't hunt game with an air rifle, you shoot targets and maybe the odd grouse or rabbit if it's high powered ( 1000 fps and up )

  4. I'm hoping all the answers will be Rabbit.

This type of question infuriates me as a hunter. I firmly believe in a humane kill where ever possible and a pellet gun don't cut the mustard with anything above rabbits.

Looking forward to the marksmanship from fellow hunters.

  5. I would not use an air gun on anything larger than a squirrel and even then I would still prefer a 22lr
