  1. Queen Victoria  I believe is now the biggest cruise liner.

  6. How, when someone has quoted the biggest ship as being 1500 ft, do others come in with obvious smaller ones?

  7. This one -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knock_Nevis

    or this one -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emma_M%C3%A...

  8. Queen Mary 2 is the largest passenger ship afloat.

    But......

    The recently retired oil tanker Knock Nevis, formerly known as the Jahre Viking, was the world's largest vessel.  Weighing in at almost 565,000 tonnes and measuring 458 metres (1,504ft) in length the giant ship had a beam of almost 69m (226ft) and drawing over 24m (80ft) of water it could not enter most of the world's ports.  Given the complexity in manoeuvring such an enormous vessel, the ship was so massive it was too big to navigate through the English Channel.

  9. isn't it that the thing called the world or something?

  10. The Emma Maersk a container ship of the Maersk Line. It is 1302 feet long with a beam of 207 feet. It carries 123,200 Tons of cargo, has a 14 cylinder inline Diesel engine cranking out 110,000 Brake Horse Power and cruises at 31 Knots. There have been some larger ones built but this is the largest one currently in use.

  13. I believe Emma Maersk is correct regarding ships now in use.  She's also one of the most environmentally friendly ships ever built in terms of direct impact and fuel consumption.

    Odd note from a conservative -

    For those who might think "big deal", consider the impact we collectively have on such things when we buy cheap foreign goods by the megaton that have to come to us by such container ships.  She's worth the read - link below.

  14. If you're talking about ship in use, than its Emma Maersk.

    It's the Titanic of the Cargo Ships! At 1,302 feet long it is the largest container ship ever built. The gigantic ship, which would awe anyone, was given the name Emma Maersk by the daughter of the late Arnold Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller and his wife Emma. After 65 happy years the Maersk's spent together, there is no question that this ship is the largest monument of love ever created.

  15. the queen mary 2(this is for passenger services)

  16. Who cares?

    Happy Holidays.
