I have application deadlines of:

Berkeley: Dec. 1st,

UC Santa Cruz and UC Irvine Dec. 15th,

UC San Diego Jan. 1st,

UCR Jan. 5th,

Would it be ok to take the exam in mid SEPTEMBER?

How long do they take to announce test scores?

AND

Would my college (Cal State Fullerton) offer testing or must I go through test locations. This is the site I am looking at:

  1. I think the GRE for the most part is all administered on computers for the general test.  These you can take M-F (and sometimes on weekends I believe).  It is offered at testing centers.  The GRE subject tests are occassionally offered at universities.  You get your unofficial scores right away and get the rest about 6 weeks later.  I would take it no later than 7 weeks out from the first application due date.

  2. Taking the exam in mid-September should be fine.

I took the GRE at a test center that had computerized tests.  I knew my score before I walked out the door.
