Some years ago, scientists announced that they had estimated its age to be some centuries after Christ. Now they have admitted they were wrong and will -I understand- return the prize they had won.More recently something new was discovered/found on the Shroud. What is it?

  1. They were looking for bioplastic polymers.  If present, it was proposed that these could have affected the radioactive carbon dating method used to determine the age of the shroud.  However, they were apparently not able to find any direct evidence of these biopolymers (as detailed in the link provided below).

  2. Pope Clement VII knew in 1389 that an artist confessed that he made if for Geoffroy de Charnay who used it in faith healing scams. The Pope made him stop that. 3 different labs in different nations did Carbon-14 tests on it and found it was made in the 14th century. Some apologists try to say a fire damaged it and caused an erratic reading on C-14 tests. That is ignorant, since only an atomic reaction could cause such a thing, and that would destroy the shroud. The Bishop of Turin said the shroud is a fake. There were dozens of fake holy relics when this shroud was made. I wish the pope had burned this one. The Bible says Jesus was buried with separate cloths on head and body and that the latter had spices in it. Thus, the Bible shows that the Shroud of Turin cannot be Jesus'.
