  1. The Committee of Secretaries (CoS) which was to review the recommendations and make suggestions to the anomalies (with particular reference to Defence staff, certain categories of employees and on the question of payment of arrears) has made its presentations to the PMO (Prime Minister's office). Press reports suggest that the report of the CoS alongwith the 6th Pay Commission Report would be presented before the Cabinet shortly for approval. A decision is expected by the end of August 2008. It is in the air that arrears may be given w.e.f. January 2007 instead of due date of January 2006.
