What is the latest recording software for recording studio?

Well, I'm in a "big recording studio" and we use Protools HD 7.4

Regardless, the software used isn't quite as important as the converters used.  A .wav file in Sonar, Cubase, Logic or Protools is the same regardless.  The biggest differences will be in the converters.  

When I try to figure out how serious someone is into this stuff, I ask about their converters before I ask about their software.

Pyramid and Apogee are two companies that make great converters.  Check them out.
