What is the law in florida for modified cars?

i am soon to get my first car (hopefully a '98 integra) and i would like to modify it here and there. :)

  2. As far as I know no where near as strict as California. I've seen plenty of ricers get away with ridiculous c**p.

    If I was you I'd keep my stock engine (not a problem if you have an Integra since they have a B18). I'd use mufflers that are recommended for street use (if it says off road use only you may be risking a noise violation) and are advertised as being less than 95db and if possible even less. Also don't try those HID kits or anything. If you do you may get pulled over for your lights being too bright. Also any visual modification is likely going to get police attention, if you don't want attention keep it looking stock, it doesn't have to be stock but the more noticable your car is the more the cops will pay attention for you doing things like speeding, running lights, etc.
