What is the law of attraction?

Can anyone tell me exactly what the law of attraction is without referring me to a link?

There is a philosophy that explains Dharma to be the actions of a person in the here and now and Kharma to be the reaction from the actions in the past.

Understanding this explains only part of the many explanations of the Law of Attraction.  Many might have no idea what Dharma and Kharma are.  But they know that if they put out positive thoughts towards some thing or other it will manifest.  Some may want money.  Some may want a car or house or business or large family or maybe even a good thing for a neighbor.  To them this is the Law of Attraction.  They make it work the way they want to because they understand it.  

Wishing a good thing onto another even if it is in the hopes that a good thing will bounce back to you is a good way to put the Law of Attraction to work.

Its like magnets opposites attract and like repel. Find someone whose qualities complements your intellect rather than being the same. He/she should show similar features and physique to those you love in your family whilst not looking exactly like your kin.

if you're talking meta-physics.. then in essence the law is simply that like things attract. so even your thoughts, feelings and actions will attract like thoughts, feelings and actions.  A bit like one good turn deserving another, but just the same negative things will attract more negative. That is, unless you actively choose to do something about it and switch back to things of a positive vibe, thus attracting more positive. If I say anymore it'll sound like I'm going round in circles.

It possibly refers to a book called the secret which talks about how if you really wish for something and/ or think about that thing all the time, you can eventually draw it to you in that way, you 'attract' i to you!

And yes in that way i think it is a little like karma.

There is No Such Law.

But you are most likely to be attracted to someone of the opposite s*x because, whether you notice it or not, they look like you in many subtle ways and match your level of intelligence when you converse.  This is the kind of person you should make your "Best Friend" and want to spend the rest of your life with, knowing that when you promise your VOWS, that you must live up to them by making the necessary compromises it takes to be compatible forever, until Death parts you, and that you will want to re-connect with that person after Death, for All Eternity.
