Could it be the pogo stick? Crawling? Piggyback rides? What do you think?

  1. I'd say crawling or better yet dragging yourself across the ground or slithering.  Slithering (wigging side to side on your belly) probably takes a lot of effort with the least result.  To be slithering you can not be pushing yourself with your legs or using your arms. You are making all the motion with your body in the way a snake would.

  2. Gasoline engines. Diesels are way better.

  3. Running in place.

Even less efficient than running in circles.

In both situations, you expend a lot of energy, but you don't get anywhere..

  4. piggy back rides are surprisingly efficient if used in the right context. pogo sticks, on the other hand, are almost always useless.

  5. Walking

  6. space travel.  You can't do your job if you are in space, you can't even get transportation to your job unless you are one of the few who is rides the rocket.

  7. This thing.

  8. If you're talking about energy efficiency, any human-powered transport is going to be more efficient than an engine.

  9. first of all pigyback rides rock!!!!!!! :D

plus i could never learned how to ride a pogostick :(

  10. TREDMILLS. They suck up so much energy, and yet you go nowhere! My personal favorite is piggybacks, they friggen rock.
