We are trying to adopt a new leave policy based on industry standards. So it would be nice to know what is out there. Thanks in advance.

  1. Take the Central Government's leave policy as a model. Get the FR & SR rules from special Govt book shops (shops which sell govt books like different Acts etc.) and take that policy. 12 days casual leave per year. 30 days earned leave credited 15 days in Jan 1 and 15 days in Jul 1. For new employees who have not completed 1 year in service, earned leave is credited as 1 day for every 11 days of service. Maternity leave: 3 months (I am not sure) paid leave. Casual leave lapses every year. Earned leave can be accumulated for upto 240 days after which any days above 240 days lapses off. During retirement/dismissal/resignation the earned leave can be encashed. There are more intricate rules like unused joining time (time given to transfer from place to place) etc.
