What is the legal age gap thing?

I live in Louisiana and I was wondering is there a limit to how far apart two people can date. I'm 16 and I like this 19 year old guy so I was wondering.

you can date him at any age. If you are having s*x, this is where it gets tricky. It varies by state, but usually it is 4 years older is okay. (as long as the younger person in over the legal age of consent.) The age of consent is usually 16 though. So it sounds like you will be okay.
