  1. None - there are no required standards.  But there is an optional one.

While many people are angry at George Lucas for various Star Wars related things - he noticed the same problem: poor seating, poor sound, crappy noise from outside, etc.

So he created the "THX" standard.  A movie theater has to have proper seating distance/viewing angle, proper volume in ALL seats, proper isolation from the next theater, etc .

So if a theater says it is "THX Certified", this means they have had LucasArts come in and test/measure the quality of ... hundreds of different things.  If you think your movie house is violating it's THX certification - contact THX and tell them.

But if the theater does not claim to be THX - the screen could be a bed-sheet and you sit on a bean bag and you have no one to complain to.

I suggest you only attend THX certified theaters from now on.

  2. What size screen?

And there is not governing body for design standards of commercial theaters. Good thing too.

  3. it is 5m

  4. ?? are you going to report your local Cinemark?
