haha dude i am not sure your exact laws but pot is ilegal in all 50 states. some states pot is used for medical purpose. but yea usually depends on how many ounces is a felony or mis.

If you have less than a twenty then you just get a slap on the wrist

but if you have over a twenty [a twentieth of an ounce] they can get you for intent to sell

Well its not that bad anymore. My cousin got caught with a half ounce and all he had to do was take a class, submit to drug test for a year, and not get in any other trouble and they would remove the conviction from his record since it was his first offense. But because dopers are inherently stupid he passed on the deal. He did not want to quit smoking his blunts so he knew he would fail the test. So he has a criminal record now. Plus the THC has made him stupid. So I expect he will one day end up on dumb crook news. Hope this helps.

i'm not sure but just don't get caught with weed anywhere in virginia, especially in virginia beach!!!!  they don't play around at all!  alot of the police are very mean there.
