  1. If by Motorway, you mean Highway or Freeway, the answer is 40 mph...unless posted otherwise.


  2. Whatever isn't going to get you or someone else killed.  On normal expressways in normal traffic conditions, the minimum is the posted speed limit.  In normal traffic/conditions on 696/Reuther in Detroit, it's about 80mph unless you want to be rear-ended (about 70mph in a traffic jam).  It really depends on where you are and what expressway, I guess.

  3. I think it depends on what state you're in. Some vary. In Arkansas, I think it is 35 or 40 on the interstate, and 30 in 55 mph zones.
