As far as I know, it is completely legal in every country in the world to run a vehicle on cooking oil.

A diesel car will run on cooking oil without modification (just make sure you sieve the c**p out first). Using biodiesel is completely different from running your car on cooking oil and is normal diesel in every respect other than where it comes from.

Oklatom is wrong - if you filter it, you can run (not start) your diesel on WVO (waste vegetable oil.)  Both of my bros in law do this with kits from greasecar.com.

You can't just run a car on cooking oil.  Cooking oil can be converted to bio-diesel to run a diesel engine.
