  1. Well, making a transition to high school tennis is a big change if your jump right into your varsity team. The reason being so is because once you get to high school varsity level, players become more serious and you will more likely come across kids who are constantly training for tennis and are aiming for scholarships or want to make it to the big league.I no way,let this intimidate you,but you will run into more serious players than ever before. The answer to the solution?Well just as you mentioned earlier, just keep training and work hard.If your coach says you will be a 3.5-4.0 NTRP player, then you should be fine!Good luck on your tennis journey!

  2. A couple seniors might be 3.5-4.0 but you wouldn't be compared to the seniors. You would be compared to other players of your age or skill level. I played high school tennis for four years and was captain last year and excluding the one tennis prodigy on our team, all the freshman were beginners. Some had never even played tennis before. If you really work hard, you can be be on the varsity team next year. So good luck next spring and have fun with it!

  3. Depending on where you live the level could be either higher or lower. It also depends on your district. Even if you aren't in the top six or so players there are still extra spots on the team where you can play exhibition and try to get better so you can move up the ladder. Don't be nervous about the level of play; just do your best and try to get better since you have four whole years to move up the ladder.

  4. I'm the #1 singles for my team and I'm a 5.0 player but the #2 is probably 4.0-4.5 and all the way at the end is about 3.0.

Good luck, and even if you get cut keep playing
