What is the liberal obsession with giving money to the Government?

You only work for it! But they think that they know better how to spend it. They are already trying to tell you what you can eat, what kind of car you can etc. It will not be long and they will be telling you what time of the day you can go potty and where! They will also tell you what you can say and wither or not it is politicaly correct. They will also be trying to tell you what church you can attend and what to believe Where you can live and what you can or can not ware. Think about it there are some countries where this already the case. You can even go to prision for owning a bible or even reading one!

With taxes we have community.  Straight capitalism is every man for themselves.  It's not pretty.

you are mistaken about us. we dodge our taxes as they are unlawful to begin with. and as far as giving money to the needy, forget that! we have campaigns to get conservatives to give them their money. so we win either way!

Many people & private companies would go bankrupt in an instant just helping out a few disabled people's medical bills. The government is the only one who can realistically come close to affording the bill.

Edit: Who decides who gets help? Does one have to be 'worthy'?

They think it's the government's job to do for them. To provide for them, regardless of whether or not you've earned it.  Now I think some social programs like welfare for those who legitimately need are ok, but liberals take it to the next dimension.  Their ideal government is more resembling of socialism or communism.

The rest of us believe the only functions the government should perform are to protect the the citizens from harm or invasion, protect our borders and sovereignty (which both Republicans and Democrats have failed to do so far), and to maintain an ordered and lawful society within the guidelines of the Constitution.
