  1. Life Span of Crabs

Although crabs have been around for millions of years, there is very little known about the age of crabs. However, it is believed that most crabs have a life span of about 1 to 2 years. Blue crabs are known to live for three years, mole crabs for two years, and the small pea crabs for two to three years. Dungeness crabs, caught and, sold along the Pacific coast, are reported to live for eight years. The king crab is believed to have a life span of about 10 to 14 years.10 There is evidence that these apecies who make their homes in the deep waters of the ocean have a tendency to live longer because they are better protected from man and other predators.
