  1. i have a bottle of Excedrin migraine in my purse and it says no more then 2 pills in 24 hours which seems WAY low


  2. Kayla, the question you pose really depends on what particular type of excedrin you are talking about. While generally excedrin has the same 3 ingredients (Aspirin, acetaminophen, and caffeine), there are some formulations that may contain decongestants such as pseudoephedrine or antihistamines such as diphenhydramine.

    What generally limits the dosages of Excedrin, however, is the acetaminophen/aspirin component. As a general rule, you should not ingest more than 4 grams of acetaminophen daily to avoid damaging your liver. With Excedrin, you also have to limit the dose based on the aspirin component simply because aspirin has anti-platelet activity and can increase bleeding risk in certain patient populations. In the case of regular Excedrin (250mg of acetaminophen, 250 of aspirin, and 65mg of caffeine), you should not take more than 8 tablets daily to treat a headache/ general aches and pains.
