I am making marrow rum, using a 1 1/2 kilo marrow, filled with 1/2 kilo sugar. I need to know how much liquid it will yield. Ie; 1 gallon or 1/2 a gallon?

  1. Well, water is 1kilo = 1litre, so you shouldn't get more than a 1/2 gallon (2+1/2 litres or so), probably less if you filter the solids out afterwards.

This also depends on if you are adding any other liquids such as water to it ...

  2. I don't know the exact weight of rum, but water has a density of 1 g/cubic centimetre and so 1 kilogram of water would equal 1 litre, so roughly 0.3 gallons

  3. It cannot be calculated by simple maths. First of you should measure the density of the mixture and then we can calculate the volume of the mixture. theoratically u should know the density of the rum and sugar and then volume can be calculated.
