What is the little skeleton face picture on certain Hotwheels cars?

My 5 year old has MANY Hotwheels cars, and he was sorting through them today and noticed that a handful of very different cars (and even a helicopter) have versions of this same skeleton face. Does this mean anything (a particular car group maybe?) or is it just coincidence?

It all depends.... Hot Wheels would often paint their cars and place decals to match their playsets or sometimes to match the cars in a certain series...

There are many of them with skulls or flames which little boys would call a coolness factor {Hot Wheels target customers} --- after all, no guy would paint their car pink with little flowers .....
