  1. Don't know but I think the Nationals are trying to beat it.

  2. 21 games, set by the '88 Baltimore Orioles.

Since 1900, the team with the longest losing streak in baseball was the Philadelphia Phillies, who lost 23 consecutive games from July 26 to August 20 in 1961.

  3. The 1961 Philadelphia Phillies hold the modern record, losing 23 straight from 29-July through the first game of a doubleheader on 20-August.

The 1988 Baltimore Orioles began the season with an 0-21 streak, the very worst start to a season in major league history.

Looking back to the 19th century, the 1899 Cleveland Spiders -- pretty much the consensus Worst Team Ever -- lost 24 straight (26-Aug to 16-Sept), as well as several other losing streaks in double digits.

  4. YEA I REMEmber in the last decade sum team lost more than 15 games straight i think it was orioles.

  5. The Orioles in 1988 lost their first 21 games.

I think the Phillies may have lost 23 straight in 1961 or thereabouts...

  6. I know Baltimore had a season starting losing streak of 21 games one year, cost the manager the job after about 17.

  7. Out of current teams, the Philadelphia Phillies lost 23 straight in 1961 but the Cleveland Spiders lost 24 in a row in 1899.
