  1. 48 inches, for a total length.  Measured by lying the club down so that the sole is set against a 60' plane.  Taken then from the distance from the point of intersection between the two planes.

    To be exact.

  2. A quick review of Appendix II of the rules I don't find any restriction on the length of a golf shaft.  They cover it's shape (it must be straight), it's bending properties, and how it is attached to the clubhead, but no mention made of limiting it's length.

    Oops I stand corrected - it is not listed specifically under "Shafts", but in the general club section.  Cannot be over 48 inches (must be at least 18 inches).

  3. 48 inch for normal golf and 50 inch for long drive

  4. USGA is 48 inches. Long drive contests used to be unlimited, but i think now they are under the same criteria also.
