  2. With reference to the list from Wikipedia on "worlds longest bridges", the longest railway bridge is in China. The Tianjin Mass Transit Bridge #1 is listed as 23 km (14 miles).

In the United States, the Southern Railway bridge over Lake  Pontchartrain in Louisiana at one time was 21 miles (34 km) long.  However, it has been partially infilled into a causeway. The longest remaining section of open bridge is approximately 6 miles (10 km).
