  3. The A6 goes from (at least) Carlisle at the very top of the country, to London. Maybe further...

  4. The Great North Road (A1) runs from London to Edinburgh taking in many other towns and cities along the way, so I imagine that is the longest road in the UK.

  5. Probably the A6 from Marble Arch - Edgware Road - Kilburn & Cricklewood High Roads.  It used to be the road to Wales long ago.
