What is the longest time someone waited for his USA visitor visa?

I was interviewed for USA visa 5 January 2005, and so far I have not been informed about the status of my visa application.

Every time I email the embassy asking about the status of my application, I receive the following response “Your application requires further administrative processing. We will notify you as soon as we are able to issue the visa.”

Is there any one how waited longer than I did?

  1. i think i had experienced this once... i think it is abt one to two months long..

  2. Some people never receive a visa.  A visa is a privilege, not a right.

  3. Some people have to wait forever.

  4. january 2005 ? and now we are in march 2007 .that is a long time to wait

here is what the USCIS says about the wait :

“Wait Times for a Nonimmigrant Visa to be Processed” information, which does not include time required for special clearances and administrative processing . Some visa applications require additional special clearances or administrative processing, which requires some additional time. Most special clearances are resolved within 30 days of application. Applicants are advised when they apply. When additional special clearances or administrative processing is required, the timing will vary based on individual circumstances of each case.

not sure i have a better answer than this .........:-(
