I have an Alpine MRP-M850 amplifier and just recently i destroyed 2 12" kicker cvr subs.i have no clue as to why but anyways i was thinking of upgrading to a Kicker L7 or something like that. my question is, what is the loudest sub my amp can power without under powering the sub or destroying my amp?i don't have much understanding of ohms and stuff like that, its my first set up i and i already destroyed 2 brand new kicker 12 cvr subs. I want to upgrade to a louder mean system without having to replace my amp and car alternator and all that. i been looking around on the internet for louder subs but im not sure if my amp can handle them. here is the stats on my amp. http://techronics.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&product_id=5474&aff=72182

any information on any subs that will work with my amp will be very helpfull, thanks guys i hope you can help me out. i would like 1 loud sub Like an L7 or 2 12" subs whatever my amp can handle and be loud. P.S i have a 2 12" Sealed Box

  1. The reason the subs may have blown is because you didnt mate the amp with the subs meaning the didnt have the same resistance load for exampe your amp may be 1 ohm stable and your subs are 4 ohms. This could really damage your sub and it could've possibly damage your amp.  You can get any sub if the power match and the loads mate just make sure you're not trying to tune the gain too high because this can cause clipping and that will also damage your subs...
