  1. OK, well officially there is no age limit. If you look at documentation from Companies House, it states that basically anyone regardless of age can be a Director of a company, and also anyone regardless of age can enter into a contract. So to answer your question, there is no age limit, but you are liable as sole trader for any debts you may incur etc!

EDIT: Yeah forgot to mention, you may need a parent or guardian to help you on legal issues and signing documentation if you're under 16.Still, it doesn't stop you running a business does it?

  2. Technically there is no lower age limit but you have to be 18 to be able to sign a legally enforceable contract.  If you are under this age then you must find an adult guarantor for your contracts.

You can do any job over 16 but there are very strict rules about employment of school age children including types of work as well as hours of work.  And these do apply to employing yourself.
