  1. For Asian foods, noodle soups in a clear broth are lower in calorie than anything stirfried with noodles.

    Japanese Udon soups or Vietnamese pho are good choices.  Just be careful what else you get in the bowl (limit fatty meats, deep fried stuff, etc) and keep your portion size reasonable.


  2. Whole-grain pasta with tomato sauce- no oil, no meat, no cheese.  Add basil (fresh is best) and oregano- great flavor without adding calories.  Add crushed red pepper if you like it spicy.  You can also add onions, bell peppers, mushrooms.

  3. Spaghetti with canned diced tomatoes in olive oil and garlic.

  4. Chinese rice vermicelli in a fish paste broth (consomme)

  5. noodles with veggies and topped with olive oil

  6. Any pasta with marinara sauce that has no oil, which is high in calories. I'll email my recipe if you like.

  7. plain boiled noodles, with a few  tomatoes, onion and garlic (both cooked in the tomato juice, not oil), brine soaked tuna (if liked), dried herbs to taste, a handful of brine soaked olives chopped.  A little olive oil somewhere along the line is not going to kill you though.
