  1. Tourist visa's for Italy and most EU countries are filled out on the plane, the flight attendants will hand out card that you fill out, questions will include, name, date of birth, address, passport number and address of where you are headed.

    But that is only if your are coming directly from the USA, if your coming from any other EU country you don't have to fill out a specific Italian visa.

    There is also a note at the website below that one does not require a visa for Italy if your staying less then 90 days. I don't recall from personal experience if we had to fill one out on the plane but I know for other EU countries I've done that.

    Also another note is that you must have a passport that will be valid for 6 months beyond your stay.

  3. Italy uses the Schengen visa. If you are planning on staying in EU Schengen countries longer than 3 months, you will need a visa.
