What is the main cause of my computer overheating? I have a fan blowing full speed at the OPENED side panel?

Could it be the processor?

Power supply?

What?

Fans clogged by dust?

I have a huge fan blowing at full speed at it. No way it can overheat while I'm playing a game!

I'm not even using all of my RAM. I have 1GB and I use about 500 at most!

I have used dust removers/blowers and I can't find a solution.

Could it be the clay for the processor?

Help please!

  1. My computer does the same thing! My compputer is Dell. Nothing to worry about though. Happens to me all the time, it's just that you have been using it for a while and it blows air out. Like if you have a laptop the bottom would get hot because underneath has a fan and if you put it on your legs or something. No air is going in to cool it. So the bottom gets really hot. If you don't get it then just e - mail me and I'll try to explain more clearly.

  2. I'm no expert....but I hear that dust accumulation is a main cause. Is your machine placed on the floor or above ground?I had my HP Media center sitting on the carpet under a coffee table...it got dusty quick,so I put a piece of plywood underneath it and I vacuum and dust frequently. So,if you can get it off the carpet .... that will help.

  3. Is this a new build, or an old one?  Has the problem been getting worse slowly over time, or did it all of a sudden just start overheating?

Grab Speedfan or PCprobe or ???? temp tool and lets see if we can figure out whats overheating.
