Just curious. We know that the human body is made up primarily of H2O (about 65-90%). What is/are the main ingredients in vegetations? Is it water as well, or is it other minerals etc...?

  1. Green Vegetables.

  2. Water and cellulose

  3. There is a lot of water in the actively growing tissues of plants.  However, in plants that produce wood, there would be considerable amounts of cellulose with less water in the heart wood of the tree.

Even so water probably is the greatest amount of the total mass of a plant.

  4. My guess would be carbon.
