  1. Latin is frequently used in medicine. Some diseases and medications are named in latin.

  2. I can't believe I'm saying this, elitist pedant that I am, but you only need a relatively small amount of Latin and Greek to become familiar with most medical terminology. Neither language has been a requirement for entrance into medical school for over half a century. However, a knowledge of Latin and Greek is very helpful in understanding the inner workings of our English language. But it's far from essential.

Also, most of the important research is published in English, but significant contributions are made in the French, German, Spanish and Italian scientific literature, too, as well as in other languages. Given the great influx of Hispanics into the US, Spanish would be a useful choice for many.

  3. most of terminology of medicine belongs to latin so latin is best for study

  4. latin or  greek, maybe roman

  5. Of course Latin is used in the medical world, so take it.

As far as actual "medicine", like pharmacology, I don't think it applies as much in drug name or ingredients/ compounds.

I still love the generic for Viaga: mydixaflopin :D Hahaha!

  6. Latin

i type medical transcription and frequently have to look up words in a medical dictionary with majority of words with latin origin
