  1. You have to also consider illegal hunting.

  2. I believe the main reason is loss of habitat.

  3. no offense people, but all the chinese eating them. as i said before. no offense!

  4. i think that the main reason is the loss of habitat and also the fact that they have been pushed out of their habitat and loss of food i think

  5. habitat destruction, natural disasters, overhunting

  6. global warming reduces rainfall and when less rain falls less trees grow

  7. Hunting for skin as well as pets for the rich.

But mostly because they are prisoners of their diet .

They only eat one kind of bamboo that grows high in the mountains.and these areas are getting smaller with human development

So loss of habitat is the biggest killer

Their reliance on this bamboo means that their habitats are very limited ,this makes also them easy to locate .for poachers

This bamboo does not give them enough fat to go into hibernation so they must stay awake and eat through the winter again making them vulnerable because of exposure in an empty land scape

The longest they can go with out food is for 3 weeks when they nurse their young in a den or cave .

They only have one cub at the time .And very few young reach adult hood

The Pandas inability to adjust or evolve its eating Habits and its poor reproduction rate are its downfall

  8. people hunt them

  9. If you mean Giant Panda by Panda then the main reason is due to the food scarcity.

Pandas are threatened by habitat loss due to increasing human populations, poaching and bamboo die-offs. Pandas are found mostly in thick bamboo and coniferous forests and their main diet is the tender bamboo shoots. As human population encroach into these forested areas and cut them down, the trees die off. If the main source of diet is not available, naturally it will threaten the species. Another reason is poaching.
