  1. It makes perfect sense to harness the sun's energy and save money.  Most people who live off the gird have all the "normal" modern  convenience and are not dependent on the local power girds.  If it is doable, why not?

  2. they like to freeze in the winter, take cold showers and eat cold food by candle light?

  3. Because it's SO MUCH CHEAPER! See http://bccondos.ca/forums/viewtopic.php?... and other links below. It's amazingly efficient, safe and convenient too, apparently. Hedge fund guy in Toronto in the Canadian Geographic excerpt expects to make out like a bandit. So do the characters listed in these New York Times Magazine excerpts: http://pokerpulse.com/news/viewtopic.php...

  4. its good for the envirorment and itll last a long time

  5. its so easy- you just slap it on your roof and hook it up- boom-renewable energy. Plus as the sun's rays get hotter (per global warming) here is a way to use that energy for consumption. I want to put some solar cells on my car since its always outside it just makes sense.

  6. Generous government subsidies.

  7. people like me want solar power to save money and to save the environment. Its cheaper so you have more money!!!

  8. In many areas you can also benefit from net-metering, or selling any excess power from your renewable energy system by allowing it to flow into the power grid.

  9. so i can tell national grid exactly what I think about their friggin company...

  10. Independence from the system

    and the subsidence it attracts

As well as being a non polluting way of generating energy

It also gives one more freedom to settle somewhere far from the

    power grid

  11. Doesn't use up any dirty fossil fuels. Stupid high gas prices are killing, so just slap on a panel and your good to go.
