  2. Hey, I have to read that book too! For school. Anyway, I think the main theme is being there for a friend no matter what, and the minor theme is dealing with someone whose  little "slow" in a work situation.

    On the other hand, the plot is more like:

    Lennie and George, two friends are trying to find a job, and come across a ranch. Their long scale dream is to have a piece of land they can call their own.

    But, the plot and theme are very different

    Other lesser important themes are: male bonding, and the impossibility of the American dream.

    Personally I hated the movie, made me very sad.
