  1. friendship, and lonleyness about how the characters were all lonley in some way.

    for example, curlys wife was lonly becuase she wanted to be an actress but never got the chance, and now she is the only women around and all she wants to do is talk to people but they wont becuase they think she is giving them "the eye"
