    If you define endemic species, you will find a definition similar to "a species that is restricted to a certain geographic region and is thought to have originated there."

    That being said, you should be able to immediately eliminate answers A, B, and E as they do not apply to this question. So based on your two possible answers, you have to remember that you are looking for the "major factor". And when you think about it, Habitat loss is most certainly the major factor leading endemic species toward extinction.
