What is the market value of the cards in a recent Magic The Gahtering booster box (on average)?

Lets say you buy a booster box of a new edition. You open all the boosters. What value can you sell the cards for on average? What % of the original USD ~80 you spent on the box originally?

It really depends on the card effect in my mind as well as the selling price listed in the Scrye or some other card price listing.  It also depends on if you want to sell to a private party or a card store.  Some card stores will buy a card from you for a discounted price or full price in store credit.

It's all one big crapshoot, really.

Hard to say - if you get a foil version of a hot card, you may get 50% of the value of your box right there.  I got a box for 80.00 and opened a foil Damnation, which was selling at the time for roughly 60.00.

Usually, you can get pretty close to the value of the box with a scattering of good/decent rares.
