What is the martial art krav maga? ?

does anybody know about krav maga, iv'e heard it's quite a good martial art, what does it teach you and are there any clubs or dojo's that teach this in the u.k and if so where?

Krav maga, its an Israeli self defense, no matter your size strength or weight you can defend yourself and against multiple opponents if need, im only 5,8 and have learned krav maga form an Israeli commando,i am not scared of anyone because it gives you confidence, its all about speed, technique and mind set. Its called krav maga, check it out, i think there is some youtube videos

Krav maga is all about mind set, they learn how to defend themselves in any situation, knive, gun stick, multiple opponents, its all bio-mechanics , theres no fancy c**p, its get in, get out, stay safe

Just to add krav maga is a mix of jujitsu, judo, shudokan Karate, and mau-tai

Krav Maga is the official martial art of the Israeli Army.  It is more than just a martial art though, it is a whole combat system.

Krav Maga trains in knife usage, using your rifle and pistol as a melee weapon, disarming adversaries, joint locks, chokes, stand up and ground fighting, hand to hand combat and all in all is designed around war.  The techniques that you will learn are ultimately meant to take someones life, or at least aid in the process.  It is still a real world applicable martial art, for self defense and offense.  

In a sense styles like Krav Maga were the first mix martial arts.  Only instead of taking the techniques that would work the best inside of the ring, Krav Maga picked the best styles for the battlefield.

Krav Maga is a good martial art, and it is gaining popularity.  I'm not sure where any schools in the U.K. are, but most have a website these days.  You can probably google around, "Krav Maga U.K." or something like that.

I would recommend going to Itunes and downloading, "The Human Weapon"  Krav Maga episode.  That will give you some well rounded knowledge and is fun to watch.  Its 1.99 US$.

Check out Sambo if you can't find any Krav Maga schools.  That is the Russian Combat System.  jhjh
