What is the matter with Chris Judd?

Plays a ripper game two weeks ago. Wanted to be in everything - & in actual fact was!

Last week he played like someone with something else, other than football, on his mind. Didn't seem to care if he went for the ball or not.

Is he sorry he went to the Blues, do you think? Being put off by the Fev Side Show? Missing playing with his mates at the WCE?

I've heard all the injury stories etc.....but that was all at the start of the season. I think there is something wrong, there.

  1. I just think that he's not 100% fit, and his body isn't as good as what it was in his West Coast days. I think he'll improve as his body gets better, especially next year, when he'll have had a rest during the off-season.

  2. to tell u the tuth he is carrying carlton at the moment he is cant be told to keep doing everything every week so they won without him becasue he is the courage and the skill in the whole team

  3. well he's a bit of a k**b but other than that I think he's ok!

  4. I think Juddy is a gun and just not up to his best since his groin surgery earlier in the year.

I definitely don't think he is regretting coming to Carlton, I think he is having a great time and enjoying the ride at a new club, and especially to jump right into the captains role, it's a tough ask, but he's good enough to do it the elite player he is.

I personally don't believe any of the rumors going around about his fitness, I just think he is not at his best yet at the blues after a strenuous year - but he will only get better with time.

  5. I remember the commentators saying when Fev was going around hugging the St Kilda players that it was disgraceful and they felt for someone like Judd who had busted his *** and there was Fev acting as though he didn't care that the blues had lost. Maybe Judd heard that and thought about that and decided why should he try so hard ,its not like they are going to win the premiership anyway.  Or then again maybe he was just having a poorer game or then again maybe he has developed an injury and he was struggling with it. Who knows?

  6. everything!...see chris judd has soo much karma now..the way he left eagles...hes brought it to the blues..who already have bad karma. chris judd aint playing well anymore cos eagles had his best years and at blues hes under so much pressure because he doesnt have awesome players like daniel kerr or ben cousins that could easily over shadow him. not to mention dean cox or the other greats. our midfield comlimented each other.he needs good players around him to work well..carlton don't have those amazing players..not like eagles had. see he has to do it all on his own now. tough luck buddy u aint gonna win another premiership..now u gotta watch west coast win more..i feel sorry for him really blahhh i think hes regreting it.

    goooo eagles 09 is ours!

  7. I don't know, but I don't have him captain of my fantasy team anymore.

He didn't get a lot of points last week.

  8. no the environment is just different he came to Carlton to build the club he could went to colling wood or hawthorn or even essendon and plus wen he was at west coast he had Kerr and cousins helping him now most of the pressure is on him and its his first year at Carlton hes on 24 and hes gonna lead Carlton to a premiership

  9. An easy question to answer - he is passed his prime - in both body & mind, as far as an AFL footballer is concerned.

As someone has already said, he will never ever play football again as he did in the west - on a consistent basis.

  10. I really wondered how he would perform at Carlton and I wasnt surprised when he had a bad start. I have found over time that any player hows career peaks at one club struggles for form when they move to another. Shane Woewodin is probably one example. We see a lot of this with those who have won Brownlows and those who just had a great year. Whilst Judds age certainly doesnt indicate that he hasnt got more to offer, perhaps we do have to understand that the career of an AFL footballer is limited to less thanb it used to be and that if it peaks early, they may end up retiring early.

  11. Judd is fine, just wait till he has a full pre-season ahead of him,  hopefully no injury and perhaps better support around him (as Carlton's boys improve) and we will see the same Judd that we saw at WCE.

  12. i noticed that as well, i think its a lot harder then he thought it would be to try to improve Carlton's game, he has mates he played 6 years with, 6 finals and 2 premiership games with, aren't with him anymore, so he is not used to playing in 11th position and feels like what the heck is he trying for, when his team can't support him.

    it could also be.... KARMA!!!

    WEST COAST EAGLES PREMIERS 2012!!

  13. It might that clubs now have a good idea how he has fittted into the Carlton side, and have decided to tag him out of games. He certainly showed the way early, and as that Carlton guy says on 774, it's time for the others in the team to stand up.

Probably mothballs for the Blues for this season, but I would expect that next year, Carlton and Judd will be much improved. He had a very serious operation at the end of last season, and it might be unrealistic to expect him to ever come back playing as well as he did in the West.
