What is the maximum angular diameter of jupiter as seen from earth? same for saturn?

  2. I could answer that off the top of my head.  Not only is Jupiter a bigger planet, but it's closer to Earth.

    The current issue of Astronomy magazine has a better answer.  Jupiter is 47.3 arc seconds wide.  Saturn is just 16.5 arc seconds wide.  

    By the way, Jupiter is looking good right now!  It's so big and bright you won't confuse it for a star.  Even with a cheap pair of binocculars you can see the round shape.
