  1. yes ur right

  2. The maximum break possible in snooker is 155.

  3. 155 If a player breaks and leaves you snookered then you can nominate another ball to be the red. If you pot that then the black then the score is 8, go on to pot 15 reds and 15 blacks all the colours 155. I heard some player nearly did this in a match a while ago but he messed up on the colours. Maths was never a strong point. I met Steve Davis and The Hurricane before.

  4. BREAK in snooker terms is defined as the points you score in a SINGLE visit at the table, and NOT the total score.

The highest possible break is 147. And while it is true that you can get freeball off a foul from the opponent, freeball's pts are taken from your original object ball(e.g. if you putt a black as a freeball in place of a red, that black counts as ONE pt).

Another thing, for you to achieve the max break AND have a freeball at the same time, your opponent must commit the foul on his very 1st shot(all reds still in place) AND place the white in a snookered position. Considering the red's position near the pink and black, this "snookered position" could only be directly behind either yellow, green, brown,or blue. If cueball is DIRECTLY behind another ball, why would you risk taking it when you can give it back to the opponent! Remember, in snooker it is very difficult to pot the object if it is too close to the object ball(except on straight line shots).

    * you can never get to choose black as your freeball when all the reds exist! Why? Think about it....

  5. 152, if the opponent breaks and fouls, and doesn't pot anything, and you go on and get 147 plus 4 for the foul.

  6. its 155 if you get a free ball pot a colour which is worth 1 then the black which will be a break of 8 plus then if you do a 147 clerance it will give you a break of 155 i doubt its ever been done

  7. but that wouldn't technically be a break then? Thought the break meant the first to hit a ball, then carry on until all gone?

Went to look it up and found this:

However, if a player commits a foul stroke with all 15 reds still on the table, and snookers the opponent, the opponent may choose to hit any coloured ball as a free ball which is scored as a red. A break in excess of 147 will be achieved by potting that free ball and a colour, then all of the reds followed by blacks, then all colours. In this case, the highest possible break is 155 (16 "reds", 16 blacks).
