What is the maximum current for the common electrolytic capacitors?

I want to use parallel capacitors to support more current in a switching mode power supply circuit so I need to know how much is maximum current for one common electrolytic capacitor?

  1. From Nichion datasheets.

    22 uF 6.3WVDC -- 85 mA ripple 120 Hz

    1000 uF 6.3V -- 540 mA

    33,000 uF 6.3V -- 3.8A

    22uF 50V -- 95 mA

    1000 uF 50V -- 1.35A

    10,000 uF 50V -- 4A

    Go to the manufacturer's website and look up specific numbers for your specific capacitor.  The thing you are looking for is the 'ripple current' rating.
