I am 13 years old and i don't want my legs to be 'done in' by the time I am an adult. I usually do distance from 6 to 10 miles. But is that to far? Is there anything else i can do running wise to get the same out of it? PLEASE HELP!

  1. It's not too far.

For a 13 year-old, you could sustain weekly mileage of 30 mile/week no problem.  Any more could cause injury.

Your long training runs (when done at an easy pace) will not lead to being "done in" but over-racing will.  So don't compete in your local 5k every weekend.  You'll be great!

  2. Run for 400 m. Then, rest for a minute. Continue running again. repeat this process for 1/2 hour everyday.

Take my word! You'll be fit and fast!!!

  3. join xc or track and talk to the coach. but idk why that other guy said dont do 5k races every week bc in xc thats exactly what we do. nearly every saturday. anyway good luck practicing and sry i didnt give u that much information :-( im sure the cross country team would love you :-)
