What is the maximum hours for summer sessions?

What is the maximum amount of hours you can take in a single summer session at university? I am currently attending a public university in Texas, and I cannot find the guidelines on the website.

It varies depending upon the university.  For most schools, it's probably nine or twelve semester hours (12 or 16 quarter hours) maximum.  However, I know of someone who took 18 semester hours one summer at Florida State University.  I would not recommend trying this, though.  Just contact your advisor for the specifics for your school.
