  1. its not 180...its 360.

    there are exactly, and only, 360 degrees in a circle...and the earth is round.

    However, those 360 degrees are LABELED as 180 degrees to the east, and another 180 degrees to the west  of 0 longitude.

  3. There is an infinite number of possible degrees of longitude. If you go from the Prime Meridian in England east or west, there are 360 whole degrees of longitude, but since each whole degree is infinitely divisible into minutes and seconds, there is no limit.

    The first responder is correct to some extent, because there is an agreement that the midpoint on the other side of the globe (the antemeridian) would also be the International Date Line. The International Date Line does not follow the 180th meridian because countries under it did not want one town to be on one day and the next town on the day before or after, so it weaves around the meridian...

    because the longitude is expressed as a° East or b° West.  If you ere to say 185°East that would really be 175° West
