Question:

What is the maximum number of employees a small business may have before it must offer health insurance?

Sepcifically I'm looking for an answer for Georgia, but any other state would be great. This is for an incorporated entity, not an LLP or an LLC. Thanks.

  4. You can have any number and still not be required to offer major medical/hospitalization insurance. However, workmans compensation is required in most states after 5 or so employees are on the payroll.

From the age of 5 I worked in a plant making socks for little children in something called "America", there were about 2000 of us in there and we lost about 500 a year to disease, but there was no health insurance, so I would suggest keeping less than 5000 starving children in your sweat shop.

  9. I don't think there is a specific number. Companies can choose whatever benefits they want to offer their employees.  I'm not aware of any such law or requirement that companies have to follow.
