What is the maximum service life of a life-raft??

  1. It has a date inside on how old it is and when it needs to be replaced>And inspection date out side>

I'm assuming that you need a USCG approved life raft.   Depending on what type raft you need, they can last indefinitely or only a few years.  There is a certification that is attached to each raft.  It has an inspection date, which tells you when it must be reinspected.   Some types have a expiration date, which means it can no longer be used to meet FAA or USCG requirements.  

         Beware of purchasing used rafts, unless you simply want extra safety, and are not required to carry a life raft.  Boats and airplanes that carry passengers for hire are required to carry life rafts.  Some, small yachts, sailed by their  owners do not.   Given that it"s a really good idea!!!!1  I hope this helps.
